Vyasa SJC is a dedicated group of traditional Jyotisa students of varying experience levels that meets regularly in an informal, atmosphere to study the nature of existence and the science of light as seen through the astrology chart. We work directly with the teachings of Brhat Parasara Hora Sastra as well as other classic vedic texts, such as Jaimini Upadesa Sutras, Brihat Jataka, the Puranas, Tantras and Mantra Mahodihi.

Both beginners and advanced students are welcome to learn with SJC.
The Paramapara teachings originate in Jagannath Puri, Orissa, India. The Sri Jagannath Center was established in 1998 with centers located worldwide in Singapore, Sri Lanka, Zambia, Moscow, Denmark, Serbia, London, Boston, Washington DC, the California Bay Area and multiple locations throughout India.

SJC holds local and international conferences throughout the year.

Each Sri Jagannath Center is named in honor of a traditional Rishi: Moscow is Brghu SJC, Denmark is Jaimini SJC and Boston is Gautama SJC. The Bay Area center is named after the Sage Vyasa, the son of Parasara and greatgrandson of Vasishta.

Veda Vyasa is known as the organizer of the Vedas and the Puranas, and the composer of the Mahabharata. He is considered to be an incarnation of Lord Visnu and the ideal Brahmarishi, possessing the knowledge of the essence of Brahma. He is the guiding Sage for the Bay Area SJC group.
